On the 29th January 2025 we gathered together to launch the Jubilee Year – Pilgrims of Peace, with a special Mass at St Pius X with Fr Peter.

The first Jubilee was declared by Pope Boniface the 8th on 22nd February, 1300. He declared it a time to forgive, to seek forgiveness and to care for God’s creation. We now celebrate a jubilee year every 25 years.

Pope Francis declared the theme of the 2025 Jubilee, to be called “Pilgrims of Hope”

He wanted  it to be a year of hope and trust for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased threats to the climate.

But most importantly, he wanted us to be God’s pilgrims of Hope. To give hope to those who despair as we journey through our lives.
