Information for parents on Nursery place allocations:

Until 2012 the Governors and Local Authority fully funded full time provision in the nursery. Since then the funding the school receives was reduced to cover 15 hours provision instead of full time and St Charles Primary School has been supplementing the shortfall. However going forward this is unsustainable and the governors have agreed that due to funding constraints a nominal “top up” fee will need to be charged to help cover costs.

One school in the borough has closed its nursery. However this is not something we wish to do as we firmly believe that Nursery and early education have a dramatic impact on children’s early development.

In order to continue to offer high quality nursery education, full time nursery provision fee of £50 a week (which is £10 per day) will be charged. Priority is as per the admission criteria along with commitment to full time provision.

Children who are entitled to free school meals at the time of admission will automatically be given a free full time place taking into account the other admission criteria. If eligibility for free school meals changes, the charge will apply.
